Your video enumerates the reasons why I am embarrassed to be a Canadian right now really well. The fact that people who peacefully disagree with the government can have their bank accounts frozen has for me cemented a deep distrust in money, money in general, not just Canadian dollars. And your assertion that will affect our financial relations with the international community is spot on. I shared a video shared by a spanish youtuber on this subject with my colombian in-laws and they were terrified of the implications this action has for money.
The thing you mentioned that I hadn’t caught, though I have been harping on its possibility for years is the idea of retro-crime. People legally donated to a legal cause that was posteriorly declared illegal and now they are being punished for this. This is unacceptable and inevitable. I would caution everyone to be very careful about what data they leave available for the government to subpoena. Deal in cash and goods, relate offline.
