Hello World,
‘Measure twice, cut once’ is a saying I heard repeated often, everywhere but at home. There is an implicit corollary there also; measure first. But that is not how my dad operated. My wife and her family did. Everything is meticulously calculated out. I quickly saw the merit to doing so. As a matter of fact, I often berated my dad for his efficiency ‘improvements’ achieved by skipping planning steps.
Now I find myself folding some sheets I bought before I got married. They didn’t quite fit the bed I bought them for because I didn’t measure the bed first. I miss my dad and I hope to skip the ‘measure first’ step a few more times in his honour.
Cabra.
