Movie Night

Friday night is movie night at our house and there are a few guidelines that make it special.

• The movie should be on a disc, or worst case scenario watched while disconnected from the internet (i.e. iTunes Rental/Purchase download). But seriously, Bluray quality is so much better than what you get from streaming sites. We stream the rest of the week, movie night is different. It’s ok to rewatch a movie on movie night, we actually encourage it.
• There should be a deep-fried snack. Use lard. Seriously, it’s cheap and the taste is so much better. We’ve made tortilla chips, corn nuts and chicken wings this way.
• Everyone watches the movie.
• Light a fire in the fireplace if the weather warrants.

Again these are guidelines, I imagine that as summer approaches, deep-fried snacks will be replaced with homemade ice cream, but it is a special family time that we try to respect.
